This process is what is referred to as Greenhouse Effect and the gases that contribute to it are called greenhouse gases which include water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and ozone (O3). Hello there Earth Moran, Let me ask you this question, suppose you work at the International Space Station and one day as you enjoy viewing one of the sunsets on Earth, a huge asteroid come from nowhere hitting the planet, sending it spinning into the sun, where would you go? Of course, you would be homeless and possibly die once the Space Station can no longer  support your life. Okay, the probability of that happening is almost zero, but you get what am getting into, right? We only have one home, the Earth, and if we destroy it, we would have nowhere to call home. In fact we will die with the planet and just like that human life will become extinct. So you get it, no one wants to think of the possibility of human extinction. However, the truth is, if we do not change our ways of life, then the possibility of making the planet inhabitable to us becomes more real.
